Discusfarm believes in 3 key items to healthy,
fast growing, colorful discus.
1. Balanced nutrition with multiple feedings
2. Stable water conditions and temperatures
3. Large daily water changes
Excellent nutrition begins with a well
balanced diet that is a minimum of 45% crude protein balanced with vitamins
and nutrients. Discusfarm feeds a variety of food based on the age of
the discus. We do not feed any hormones, but do feed natural foods to
enhance the color of fish. Click for more info:

Quick notes:
In the wild, discus are searching for food all day. Thus several small meals are better than one large one. This occupies more of their time.
Most of the food that falls to the bottom of the tank will only pollute your water. Feed only what they will eat before it hits the bottom.
We do 80% water changes in the late afternoon and feed the heaviest water polluting food like the Shrimp Mix one hour before cleaning the tanks. |

There are many different versions of this same recipe. You can add fresh fruit, vegetables, like spinach, vitamins, medications, flake foods, pellets or anything else you can think of. If you add medication don't do it to every batch, only when necessary.
Remember what goes in comes out and what isn't eaten falls to the bottom of the tank. Either way it's pollution to your fish. Keep up on those water changes. |
